Richard J. Conrod, Sr.
Richard J. Conrod, Sr. is the founding partner of Conrod & Company Law Firm, P.C., which is headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Mr. Conrod was the Executive Vice President of a product and marketing company, the founder and President of a private elementary/secondary school, a board member of an international outreach into developing countries, a broadcaster for a 100,000 watt FM radio station, and years later was drawn to the legal profession. Mr. Conrod became an attorney as a second career because his passion is for helping others and attorneys are uniquely equipped to help others in a wide array of circumstances.
Richard and his wife, Frankie, have been married for 46 years, and have three children and nine grandchildren. Their oldest son, Johan, is an attorney in Norfolk, Virginia; their daughter, Sherri, is an artist in Moyock, North Carolina; and their youngest son, Nathan, is a missionary with the Baka tribe in the rainforest that spans from Cameroon in West Africa, and into the Congo.
Mr. Conrod practices in business law, with a focus on commercial property acquisition, but he also handles trusts and estates, asset protection, and commercial litigation. Mr. Conrod attributes his successes to his crisis intervention, crisis management, and crisis resolution skills, which he honed prior to becoming an attorney. An area of satisfaction to Mr. Conrod, is his work with non-profit organizations, including ministries, schools, and churches. The firm has done a massive amount of pro bono work.
Richard is an avid outdoorsman with interests in hiking, birdwatching, animal tracking, mountain climbing, cliff climbing, kayaking, canoeing, surfing, sailing, and “pontooning”. His outdoor adventures have taken him to the everglades of Florida, the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina and Virginia, the Caribbean, Africa, the Amazon, and his ancestral home of Norway.
He launched his outdoor adventures in Scouting, becoming Senior Patrol Leader, Chairman of the New River District, Chairman of South Florida Council of Explorer Scouts, Eagle Scout, Bronze Palm, and Order of the Arrow.
